My father is black and my mother is white. I am 20 yrs old and attend college in Indiana. My whole life I have never been looked at as what I am an bi-racial person. When I lived in Queens, New York from ages of 5-11 I was lloked at as white by all of the black kids and was called names like honkey. Then I moved back to the state I was born in Indiana. I have been here for the past 8years and have noticed that people here think I black and call me almost every name in the book. That was my first two years here then I got bigger and people stopped calling me these names, but they never stopped using them around me finally I just started to ignore them and stuck with my close group of friends. All throughout the time I was dating girls(all white due to my environment) their fathers would always tell them that they should not be dating a black guy. I attended a small private college my first year of college and meet a lot of bi-racial people there and many had the same experiences as me. Every time I go back to the town where I went to high school people still look at me like I am a monster. I am just happy to find other people like me and it is great to know that there is something like this for us. I want to be a big supporter of this and want to fight for bi-racial rights. I am very proud to be the product of a interacial couple and always will be.
