New York Designer Rafe Totengco began launched his self-titled shoe and handbag collection in 1995. His designs were propelled by the twin goals of fashion and function. No woman should have to skimp on or the other. Before reaching the status he now enjoys as one of New York’s top designers, Rafe first took a big career risk back in 1989 where he left his successful clothing business in the Philippines. He has his fashion sights set on New York City. He put himself through Fashion school, working as a style assistant, and in 1994 sold his first line of accessories and belts. After tireless hours in his apartment, with enough drive, and a little help from his friends Rafe was able to turn his fashion dreams into a very successful reality.
