Sam Edelman
Boho meets Native Indian, and they both travel the full spectrum of the rainbow to create a pair of Sam Edelman shoes, so it make sense that Hippy Chick and Vintage fiend Mischa Barton, as well as everyone’s young, favorite cowgirl Miley Cyrus can’t seem to get enough of these affordable shoes. Both celebs have been seen sporting the ultra comfy, American Indian inspired fringe boot. The paparazzi seem to find these celebrities in a pair of Sam Edelmans on most of their shopping days. With all the bright colors it’s also hard not to notice these shoes, and with the soft, flexible materials, you won’t want to run around tough, concrete sidewalks in anything else.
Each pair has strong Vintage undertones, especially because of the warm oranges, mustard yellows, and electric blues that you just don’t find in corporate America or in most footwear made after the movie American Psycho. When women hit the workplace big time, blacks, greys and camels replaced the fun, bright colors of the fifties and sixties. But Edelman’s steadfast popularity is proof that inside every office bee is a strong desire to show that vibrant yellow coat. Or gemstone purple, or royal blue. All these colors can be found popping out at you from the ethnic beads and embroidered patterns on the sides of velvet wedges with a perfect, deep chocolate palette. A pair of Sam Edelman wooden wedges with an orange snakeskin upper and red and yellow wood beads across the vamp made it to the cover of a Bloomingdales ad in The New York Times.
